I just realised that my blog is now a year old, Happy Birthday blog!
I’ve been quite busy this month – spreading myself between two new jobs and doing art work has kept me away from the blog. A couple of updates though!
I recently sat on a panel of Illustrators for an Artists Round Table event at the Stanley & Audrey Burton gallery.
I had a blast, and thanks to everyone who came, I hope you learned a lot and got what you came for. Hopefully I’ll get hold of some pictures from the event soon. I’d like to take this opportunity to point out the brilliant illustrators who also took part - Drew Millward, Jay Cover, Matthew Hodson and Hannah Jones. Check them out, I love all of their work very much.
Also, I’ve been printing up some tote bags with this house design – they are nearly done so keep an eye out here or at my etsy store where I’ll be putting them up for sale very soon. They are all versions of buildings I have lived in or visited before, if a little warped by memory/imagination.

That’s all for now, but if anyone reads this in time, please catch the Aubrey Beardsley exhibition tomorrow (Saturday the 12th) because that’s the last day!
I designed the cover art for Double Muscle’s fancy and soon to be really released EP. I’ll post further sneak peeks of the inner/back cover art once it has been released, but to see it in full glory you’ll have to get hold of one of the very limited copies on cd.
Please give them a listen here: http://www.myspace.com/doublemuscle
Well I’ve been busy making Christmas Cards lately and applying for various opportunities.
Firstly I’d like to highly recommend going to visit this exhibition at Leeds University that I helped with:

And in other news I’ve got not one but two new jobs, but while work might be a bit slower, I’ll still be posting with all my image making successes and failures.
Keep an eye out for some EP artwork that I have been working on for my friends Double Muscle, and check out their music while you’re at it!

It’s a bit late to post this but if you’re in a dash for last minute presents tomorrow, pop down to Birds Yard where you can buy my Christmas Screen Prints!

So, now that the competition is over (sort of) I’ll post my full comic here for everyone to read. I had much fun reading through the other entries on the Comica website. I’m sad to see that my favourite one, by up and coming student illustrator Hannah Simpson, isn’t in the finalists, I thought it was so sweet and lovely! You can read it here.
Anyway, mine is about some children who came to stay when I was very little, I wanted to do a comic or illustration about them, or to them even, so the competition was convenient for me in that sense, I’m very glad I did it. My only regret of not winning is that it won’t be widely read, I had thought that there might be a tiny chance that the children from my past might somehow read it and get back in touch. Here it is, anyway ~ Click for bigger images and proper colours!

Yikes! Long time no post!
I’ve been busy setting some print adventures, and my volunteering things have been quite absorbing lately, but here are my Christmas Card/Postcard designs for this year.
They are about A6 size, and they’ve all been hand screen printed in 3 colours. I’m just now in the process of cutting and packaging them before they get put up for sale. I’ll be putting them in my etsy shop online, (I’ll post the address here) and also at the lovely Birds Yard in Leeds: http://www.birdsyard.co.uk/
Here’s a little peek of the designs!

Apologies for the shoddy photography, some lovely crisp ones will accompany the cards when they go on sale, which will be very soon!
